Welcome to Amherst Island Public School where we are small in number but large in spirit! We are a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school located on picturesque Amherst Island, once named one of the prettiest towns in Canada. Our school is within the local hamlet of Stella on the protected north central shore. A regular ferry service connects us to the mainland at Millhaven. Our school yard is spacious and open and includes a skating rink in the winter.
Although we are a small school, we continue to provide a quality learning environment for students, with numerous enrichment opportunities, including athletics and the arts. Whether you are returning to us or new this year, we want to assure you that our school will provide your child with many positive experiences in their academic studies, athletic skill development and the various arts, while promoting community involvement and positive character development.
We invite parents and guardians to work co-operatively with our staff to ensure all of our students are provided with as many opportunities as possible. We also welcome volunteer participation and would encourage you to participate in our School Council.
